Locke & Key Premiere and Afterparty

For the greatly anticipated premiere of Netflix’s young adult thriller, Locke & Key, we were tasked with creating a new take on a traditional red carpet. This reimagined Hollywood staple consisted of a three dimensional step & repeat, three mini platforms for three different media outlets where the stars of the show would be interviewed, and a small stage where more formal interviews would be broadcast live. All elements were designed with spooky in-world touches as well as the after party, where simple but effective moments, such as lighting and decor choices, transformed the night club into something right out of the show. As lead designer I conceptualized and designed the premiere’s elements, communicated back and forth with the client, oversaw the build of the step & repeat (the only built element of the project), and was the main point of contact on site, while overseeing the whole set up.
